il vigneto

June 26 - July 3, 2022

Il Vigneto means "the vineyard" in Italian. Nestled in an olive grove on a wine estate that has been producing wine since 1172 sits the villa Casavecchia. Come spend the week in this beautiful farmhouse sipping renowned Chianti Classico and soaking up the Tuscan sunshine.

Sitting atop the Castello di Volpaia estate, this farmhouse-style villa boasts six bedrooms and six bathrooms with a panoramic view of the vineyards. Lovingly restored in the typical Tuscan tradition, the farmhouse also includes all the modern comforts one might expect, such as wifi and en-suite bathrooms. In 2018, Wine Spectator ranked their 2015 Riserva as the third best wine in the world!

The main farmhouse holds four bedrooms, and the other two bedrooms are in the guest house, connected by a small stone courtyard. The stunning views from the pool are reminiscent of the 2017 movie "Call Me by Your Name," set in Northern Italy.

Within walking distance of the villa is the charming village of Volpaia. Strolling down the village's quaint streets, you can buy fresh, handmade bread at the local bakery, grab a drink at a neighborhood bar, or sample the outstanding wines at the local cantina. Additionally, you could enjoy a gourmet meal at the Osteria or taste the local cuisine at one of the more simple restaurants. Whatever your heart desires!

Perfect for exploring other parts of Italy, the villa is situated one hour from Florence and 45 minutes from Siena. San Gimignano, Arezzo, and all the famous villages in Chianti are a short drive away.

In addition to the many wineries, you can choose from a variety of cheese shops, pasta-making classes, bike tours, hot air ballooning, and all the flavors of gelato. Many award-winning restaurants and unforgettable family-run trattorias can be found in the nearby villages, or you can just cruise through the countryside for the enchanting scenery.
